I'm supporting Mission Direct's 2026 Mission Maker Month because I love what this small local charity does building and refurbing schools to provide an education for children in some of the world's poorest countries.

Shan and I were fortunate enough to be able to partner with Mission Direct building schools in Zambia and spending time meeting the children whose lives were being changed by going to school.

Aside from more opportunities for meaningful employment for those who have an education, girls who go to school are less likely to be married and have children young, that they then have no financial means to support. The realities for these often very young children, is looking for ways to survive and find food on a daily basis.

I will be asking for money which is never anyone's favourite ask. But if you don't ask you don't get and this isn't about me. This is about the children (and their families) who don't have anyone to ask.

I am putting my ask to myself first and have decided to price match any donations I get to the value of £500 and to spend the month of June looking for ways that I can give rather than spend money. Donations of any amount from friends and family for me to price match will be VERY gratefully received as well as amazing and life changing for those in the most need.
