Sustainable's fundraiser for Cardiff Foodbank

Sustainable Energy is raising money for Cardiff Foodbank

Cardiff Half Marathon 2025 · 5 October 2025 ·

Food insecurity is now a frightening, daily reality for far too many people. Right now, many are facing an impossible choice between paying the rent, heating their homes or buying food. It shouldn't be this way. No one should need a food bank to survive. No one in Cardiff should go hungry.

Story

About Us

We’re a team of technical consultants from Sustainable Energy - a truly local Cardiff company designing nationally-leading low-carbon district heat networks for clients including local authorities, housing associations, and healthcare, helping to realise the delivery of affordable, sustainable heat for residents, schools, and businesses across the length and breadth of the British Isles. Sustainability is a three-legged stool comprising environmental, social, and economic pillars. It isn’t only about cutting carbon - it’s about creating balance across all three.

Why we’re fundraising

That’s why we’re proud to be running the Cardiff Half for Cardiff Foodbank, chosen through a company-wide vote. This cause reflects the social side of sustainability, supporting people in our community where the system too often falls short. We believe food banks shouldn’t have to exist, but while they do, they’re a lifeline - and we’re pleased to back them.

On race day, we’ll be running right past our office (and many of our homes... didn't I say we're local?!), and if you’d like to see how our runs (or training!) went, you can find us on Strava under our team, "Sustainable Energy Unlimited".
