Story
Gareth and Charlotte, and Butcher cousins are joining other Stepping Stones DS families competing in the Kingston Dragonboat Festival on Sunday on 19th July 2026.
This year’s World Down Syndrome Day theme was Never Alone, reminding us of the importance of our family of families. Our families are coming together to take part in the Kingston Dragon Boat Festival, working together to power their Dragon Boat through 3 races of the 200m course on the River Thames.
It will be a celebration of inclusion, community and potential, everyone can join in, have fun, and make a real difference.
Stepping Stones DS has supported Zoe, and our family ever since she was born, 16 years ago. Without them we would be less knowledgeable and more lonely. We believe that so much of what Zoe has achieved has been made possible through the support, friendship and role models that SSDS has given us.
Stepping Stones DS relies on the generosity of supporters like you. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us continue our mission to provide essential support, education, and guidance to children, young people, and their families in our community.
Your contribution goes beyond just funding—it provides hope, empowerment, and opportunities.
