Story
On Saturday 8th June 2024 Sutton police will be getting their spin on, battling it out against Merton police to raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice.
St Raphael’s is a local charity who care for individuals living with life-limiting illness within the boroughs of Sutton and Merton. The service costs over £6.5 million a year to fund. A large proportion of this is funded through charitable donations.
St Raphael’s provided care for PC Gordan ‘flash’ Wright at the end of his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. PC Wright worked out of Sutton for a number of years during his 20 years’ service.
Two spin bikes will be placed in Sutton High Street, the same is being replicated in Wimbledon High Street. Sutton will be competing against Merton to see who can clock up the most miles. The miles will be accumulated two ways, physical miles pedalled and also converted miles from pounds donated. Every £1 on the Sutton page will translate to another mile accumulated to hopefully beat Merton police!
Thank you for your support.
