Take to the Water has teamed up with Borders Water Rescue team and local Galashiels Rotary Club to take on the Union Bridge to Berwick 9.5km challenge. All funds raised will align to Galashiels Rotary Club & Borders Water Rescue Team.

Story

This September I am taking on a challenge that is way out of my comfort zone. I will be swimming 9.5 km along the Tweed from Union Bridge to Berwick RNLI Station to raise funds for the Borders Water Rescue Team. I’d love your support, whether it is a small donation or encouragement, it will all help. Thank you so much x

The Borders Water Rescue Team provides water based search, rescue & recovery service in conjunction with the emergency services. They are a volunteer team, including Rescue3 qualified personnel who are able to assist with search and rescue of those individuals who have got into trouble in our many areas of water. In addition, they provide health and safety support for many water based community activities such as Common Riding water crossings, film sets & large scale obstacle courses.

They are an essential service on our doorstep providing peace of mind. You never know when any of us will require and be hugely grateful for their commitment and services.
