This September I am taking on a challenge that is way out of my comfort zone. I will be swimming 9.5 km along the Tweed from Union Bridge to Berwick RNLI Station to raise funds for the Borders Water Rescue Team. The Borders Water Rescue Team provides water based search, rescue & recovery service in conjunction with the emergency services. They are a volunteer team, including Rescue3 qualified personnel who are able to assist with search and rescue of those individuals who have got into trouble in our many areas of water. In addition, they provide health and safety support for many water based community activities such as Common Riding water crossings, film sets & large scale obstacle courses.

They are an essential service on our doorstep providing peace of mind. You never know when any of us will require and be hugely grateful for their commitment and services.
