Suzanne and Louise’s Taff Trail trek. Covering 55 miles over 5 days, for the amyloidosis charity. In loving memory of our Mum ❤️

Walking The Taff Trail · 20 May 2024
We are walking the Taff Trail for the Amyloidosis Charity:
In loving memory of our Mum ❤️
Amyloidosis is a rare disease that causes abnormal protein buildup in organs and tissues, until they cease to function normally. There is no cure for Amyloidosis but if diagnosed early enough, it can be managed with treatment. For mum, the diagnosis came too late, which is why it is a cause close to our hearts, and why we are determined to raise awareness and support for those impacted by this condition.
Our journey will take us along the scenic Taff Trail, covering 55 miles over 5 days from Brecon to Cardiff. The trail will take us through the area where mum was born and through the towns where we grew up, so as we take each step, we are reminded of the joy that she brought to our lives and the legacy of the love that she has left behind. Mum bravely battled with multiple Myeloma and amyloidosis, through lock down, until she sadly passed away a few weeks before her 80th birthday.
By trekking the Taff Trail, we're not only embarking on a physical challenge; we're also on a mission to make a difference by raising funds for the Amyloidosis Charity, ensuring vital research, support, and resources are available to patients and families affected by this disease.
Your contribution to this cause, whether big or small, will mean a great deal to us and will have a meaningful impact on the lives of those currently battling with amyloidosis and for those yet to be diagnosed. So, please join us in celebrating the life and memory of our wonderful mum, by supporting this important cause and contributing to a future where amyloidosis is better understood, treated, and ultimately, overcome.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness and support, we hope you have a beautiful day.
Suzanne and Louise ❤️
P.S. It’s a Beautiful day… wish you’d come my way… are the lines from a poem that our mum wrote. This will be the mantra for our walk and will be printed on the back of our T. shirts. If you live near the trail and we pass your way, then please come and say hello, it’s a beautiful day.
