Trek to Base Camp Everest with Global Adventure Challenges

PCaSO Prostate Cancer Support Organisation is a patient support group covering Dorset, Hampshire and Sussex. We support patients and their families. We spread awareness of the risks of prostate cancer through our publications and PSA testing events. We are run by patients for patients.

Story

I admit it, in recent years I have not been at my fittest! Ever since I climbed Kilimanjaro in 2003 and our group talked about Everest Base Camp as the next challenge, I have wanted to achieve it. 2023 came along and I was given the opportunity after conversations with my work colleague, Teresa, who was also looking into her next goal. So here I am a year later, hopefully much fitter, and about to embark on the walk to Everest Base Camp this month, November 2024.

By taking on this challenge I am really hoping to raise as much money as possible for two really great causes: PCASO and the Ickle Pickle Children's Charity.

PCaSO are a charity for men diagnosed with prostate cancer, run by people living with prostate cancer and their families. Their aim is to raise awareness so more men are diagnosed early, and to provide support to those diagnosed. They donate money to local hospitals and encourage further research. They also have a helpline and work with other charities to provide group support meetings and to offer PSA tests.

I would be really grateful if you could support me on my journey by donating to help these two fantastic charities.
