Story
On the 28th September, Lloyds Bank Real Estate Intermediaries Team will be embarking on the ‘London Bridges Ultra Challenge’ in order to raise funds for the essential support services provided by Dawlish Children's Special Needs Group (A.I.M.S.). The route covers 25km, setting out on our walk from the Putney Bridge starting point, we will head East towards the City, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges, with the final crossing at Tower Bridge.
A.I.M.S. supports children with special needs and their families. The Charity provides the opportunity for families to meet together to share experiences and problems and offer support, guidance and information for the adult members, who may often struggle or feel isolated. The activities are run by a team of playleaders and volunteers for the special children and their siblings, which helps the parents and creates a safe and relaxed environment to create a support network for parents and siblings. The group has been running for over 25 years operating with the same aim, delivering respite and support for families who are struggling financially, emotionally and practically in areas such as education, transitions, transport, social skills and forming friendships. The children have a range of difficulties including Autism, Downs Syndrome and in some cases, undiagnosed conditions.
With no other source of funding, this Charity depends on donations to cover their core costs and offer a range of activities for families. With more funding, their support can reach a more diverse range of children from toddlers to teenagers, all with differing needs. So donations really do have a significant impact on these families.
We are so grateful for anything you are able to donate. Thank you
