Story
This year, I lost a very important person in my life, Diane. Diane was a special person. Not only was she like a sister to my mum, but she was like a mother to me. She raised me with her lovely daughters when I would stay at their home over the Summer holidays! So many happy memories.
We lost Diane, over and over again due to her illness. It’s a cruel disease and takes away the person from you!
I will be swimming 10K (500 lengths) throughout November 2024 to fundraise for Alzheimer’s Society in her memory, not only to raise the vital funds for research but also to raise awareness. This video highlights one side of what it feels like (watch with care): https://youtu.be/4ksN8N1n6sQ?si=-zMa6FTwMzmT6p9E
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.
