This years Lenten appeal is dedicated to raising funding, raising furniture donations and raising awareness of our work in Sheffield, so we can keep doing what we do best, ending furniture poverty one home at a time.

St Vincent’s Furniture Project supports those who are struggling through poverty, deprivation and difficult circumstances to create a home that provides them with the safety and comfort they need.

We have been tackling furniture poverty in our community for over 35 years, distributing for free, essential household furniture to individuals and families in need. We know the importance of everyone having a proper bed to sleep on, a sofa to rest on, a dining table where your children can eat their dinner together and sit and do their homework. Furniture that we often take for granted, which is out of reach for so many without help.

Furniture Poverty – the inability to buy or maintain essential household furniture – is a systemic problem which is only growing worse and more common due to the current cost-of-living crisis. Living without the means to sleep and eat well and in comfort has far reaching consequences for each person it affects. Leading to poor mental and physical health and entrenching people further in poverty and often debt. Making the complex lives of those already struggling even harder.

This Lent, we are appealing for support so we can ensure that everyone is able to live in a safe and comfortable home. We know that times are hard for us all, but if you are in a position where you can help with a donation, of any size, then we thank you for your kindness.
