I am swimming for 24 hours to raise money so that more children can experience that first splash. Holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. Lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day.

I am a Children's Occupational Therapist. Every day I meet families who wish their child could go swimming. I myself have benefited so much from being able to swim as have my children, one whom has additional needs himself and adores the water. When I saw this challenge I couldn't resist signing up. I know many of you have donated generously to me recently for Birmingham PHAB camps but this time just £200 will make a huge difference.

Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.

Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
