Local businessman Richard Scott is attempting to break his own World Record for the Longest Marathon on a Swing from 12 noon on Thursday 6 August until 2.00pm on Saturday 8 August. He will aim to complete this incredible 50 hours continuous challenge.

The challenge is being organised to raise funds towards a new Sensory Room at Rachel House, CHAS children's Hospice in Kinross.

Rachel House in Kinross, a children’s hospice in Kinross operated by CHAS, is to undergo a complete £17.5m refurbishment commencing in August 2026. The refurbishment is to provide improved standards of care for the children and improve the standard of support for parents and families.

Rotary Club of Kinross & District in partnership with CHAS has agreed to raise funds to equip a new Sensory Room and Interactive Play Area in the refurbished building. The funding target for the Club is £30,000 and if successful with a Rotary Global Grant Application a total funding of £86,500 could be realised. Such funding would fully equip the Sensory Room and Play Area.

The Sensory Room and Interactive Play Area will bring joy to the children and their siblings with the benefits of reducing stress, having fun, and helping to take their minds of discomfort and pain.
