We are fundraising for our new shelter. With the help of the community and gathering the right resources we are hoping to open on the 17th January. With this new shelter we will almost doubling the amount of individuals we can support. There has been a 24% increase in the number of people found sleeping rough in London in the last three months. Homeless people are in need now more than ever for a safe place to sleep.

Hackney Winter Night Shelter began over20 years ago when a group of Hackney residents and members of church congregations, some of whom had personal experience of homelessness, were thinking about how they could help the people they saw sleeping on the streets around Hackney.

In 2022 the shelter is still running and providing temporary accommodation and on going support to deliver a lasting route out of homelessness.

Our guests stay with us for periods that can be a few days or several months. The shelter provides a safe place to sleep, withnutritious meals away from
