Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As you are here, you would know that I am planning to completing a trek to raise funds for St Clare Hospice.

I may have approached you before as well! I have been at St Clare Hospice as a doctor since 2000. This has been a humbling journey. My experience has been made rich by my patients and my passion has grown every year.

Every day in a hospice, life is not measured in years—but in moments.

A daughter holding her father’s hand as he takes his last breath.

A patient finding relief from pain after days of suffering.

A quiet room filled not with fear, but with dignity, compassion, and love.

This is what hospice care makes possible.

But behind every peaceful moment is a team working tirelessly—nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, counsellors—providing expert care when it matters most. And much of this care relies on the generosity of people like you.

Hospices don’t just care for patients. They support families through the hardest days of their lives. They create space for goodbyes, for comfort, for humanity in its purest form.

Your donation—no matter the size—helps ensure that:

• Pain is controlled

• No one dies alone

• Families are supported before and after loss

• Care remains free and accessible to those who need it

At the end of life, what people remember isn’t treatment—it’s kindness.

With difficult funding situation hospices are in, I am doing my bit to increase some funds for hospice. Because everyone deserves dignity at the end of life.

I have accepted the challenge to trek through the Moroccan Sahara. I will be walking over sand dunes with temperatures posing a specific challenge with temperatures historically reaching 40°C

And I am reaching out to you. I have accepted this challenge because I trust in goodness I find in YOU. I believe that YOU all want a hospice to not just SURVIVE but also THRIVE. Our Hospice is a place where we all believe in dignified care and we want to cultivate that culture among our colleagues and communities. We can only do this with YOUR help. So please help me complete this challenge and make sure that patients continue to receive the OUTSTANDING care, which they deserve.
