SYLA Spring Ball 2023 · 25 March 2023

We provide information and support to anyone in the legal community experiencing mental health and wellbeing problems. We work to raise awareness, promote understanding and to improve the culture and practice of law. We do this through support (helpline, peer support, webchat, resources), prevention and education (information, training, awareness, tackling stigma), research (understanding the impact the culture and practice of law has on wellbeing and mental health) and by driving positive change in education, training and practice.

Story

Taking place on Saturday 25 March 2023 at The Caves in Edinburgh.

The night will commence with a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal with complimentary wine (non-alcoholic alternative available) on all tables. The meal will be followed by live music by AmpliFive. Our sponsors are G2 Legal, Scott & Co Sheriff Officers LLP, and Sharri Plimbley Associates.

Every year we have a charity raffle and this year we are supporting LawCare. LawCare is an independent charity working to promote good mental health and wellbeing in legal workplaces and drive change in education, training and practice. LawCare recently provided emotional support to 583 people.

Money raised will help LawCare to continue to provide emotional support on the phone and online for legal professionals struggling with their mental health issues. It will also help us to carry out research to better understand the factors that contribute to poor mental health in the legal professions, so we can address these issues in the public interest and influence change in the culture.

Please see our recent email for details of our raffle prizes. All funds will be donated to Lawcare. The raffle will close on Sunday 26 March 2023 at 8pm.
