Sue Ryder Starlight Hike is a series of 5k or 10k walks this October. The events provide an opportunity to get together with family and friends under the stars to celebrate the life of someone special and help ensure no one faces death or grief alone.

All the lovely Sue Ryder Nurses and bereavement professionals provide care and support to thousands of people facing their darkest days. But they can’t do this without our support.

This year myself and four of my closest friends are taking part in the Starlight Hike on 11 October to raise money for Sue Ryder where our lovely George received the most wonderful care.

I know you have already been very generous this year but any amount that you would be prepared to sponsor me for will motivate me to achieve my 10k challenge as well as enable Sue Ryder to continue to provide compassionate and expert end-of-life care and grief support for all those in need. Even the smallest amount will make a huge difference.

George had the choice to be where he wanted to be at the toughest moment. Together we can help others have the same choice and help their families too.

Together with my friends (we have given ourselves the team name “George’s Gals”) we will be celebrating George’s life with every step we take. Above everything else he would want us to have fun.
