Story
Hi, I am Teoh, a Malaysian educator currently based in China.
This October, I will be running the Sierra Leone Marathon — not for competition or personal glory, but for something bigger: to support Street Child, a UK-based charity that helps vulnerable children in Sierra Leone and other countries go to school, stay in school, and build better futures.
But I am not doing this alone.
A small team of my students — Alisa, Eric, Kevin, Mandy and Rayne, all young people from China – are joining me on this journey in their own way. They are not running the race, but they are:
✅️Creating content and sharing the cause in both English and Chinese
✅️Reflecting on privilege, access, and what education really means
✅️Learning about a world far removed from their own — and how to engage it responsibly
This is not just a charity campaign. This is a learning journey across cultures, ages, and realities.
Your donation supports Street Child’s work:
✅️Building schools
✅️Training teachers
✅️Supporting families
✅️Reaching children in some of the world’s most challenging environments
All donations go directly to the charity.
Help us turn this into more than a marathon.
Help us turn it into a conversation that bridges worlds.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
