Story

Training Update

Over the Easter weekend, Richard and Harry met up in Studland in order to benefit from further training for this event as well as to take a look at the various routes for the bike, hike and canoe. Weather was mixed but the weekend preparations were well worth it. They both realised the complexities of this event - however a good time was also had! Their families are all set to support them on the day of the event - if you can support them too by donating on the JustGiving link or by being there on the day, that will be a massive bonus. They would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who has already donated - it is greatly appreciated. Hope you like the team jerseys!

For those of you who don’t yet know - Richard and Harry, Richard being co-owner of the successful Fitness-Worx group and Harry the son of Julie Philpot, leader and director of the successful Kenilworth based estate agents, Julie Philpot Residential, are taking on the Race the Sun Jurassic Coast Off-Road Challenge in Swanage for children's charity Action Medical Research. Having a combined age of 94 the Team Name of T-94 seemed very appropriate.

In June they will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike and paddle around a challenging course in a race against the sun. An area we all know really well, where may a happy time has been spent on the beach, in the sea and enjoying the walks. Yvonne, Tony and myself will be there to support them on the event.

They are doing this event in aid of children's charity, Action Medical Research who have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

By supporting them you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Thank you so much for your support.
