Story
Morgan's Army Charitable Foundation was set up by Natalie and Matthew Ridler following the cancer diagnosis of their then 2 year old son, Morgan.
His cancer was rare, adrenocortical carcinoma and a long time was spent in hospital following diagnosis for tests and treatment planning, due to to complexity of this 1-in-a-million cancer diagnosis. Natalie and Matthew were able to seek solace in supporting the charities that were supporting them, helping others whilst they were powerless to help their son.
They soon realised that Morgan's story was a powerful one which over time would raise awareness of many types of childhood cancers and sharing their journey would help many others feel less alone. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family unit is diagnosed. Life changes in an instant. Their experience of this inspired Natalie and Matt to set up Morgan's Army as a charitable foundation, pledging to support families of children diagnosed with cancer in South Wales through helpful initiatives and supporting major projects of children's cancer charities in South Wales.
We are raising money for Morgan’s Army to support and to;
Fund items from the Latch Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity wishlist for the ward and the parent accommodation.
Find items from the Ronald McDonald House Cardiff wishlist.
Fund a play therapy session for a child from kids cancer charity.
Here are some ways your donation can help.
£25 - can fund a small treat for a deserving sibling or send a pick me up to an oncology parent. It could find a night for a family at Ronald McDonald House, Cardiff.
It could fund a sibling beads of courage pack for the play therapists at kids cancer charity to hand out, or help us to donate to the Sparkle Fund Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital charity to make inpatient children smile.
£50 - could fund a cake/decorations for an end of treatment bell ringing celebration.
£100 - could find a peer support event for oncology parents
£250 - could find an equipment grant or a hardship grant for a family.
