On April 12th I will be taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon. I have never run more than 5km and I haven’t done so since 2020. I am on a mission to put myself out of my comfort zone and for a great cause. I’ll be running for Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

CF is a charity very close to our family as Hugh has CF and Mum, Dad and I are carriers so it makes it all the more important to raise as much as possible - so please donate what you can!

CF is an incurable genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.

Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how it effects people with it living a normal life. Just three decades ago, the average person with cystic fibrosis would live only to the age of 30, but now 50 years is typical as we continue to push and unite as a community towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is at the forefront of trying to find a cure for people with Cystic Fibrosis.
