Story
I am running the London Marathon 2026 to raise money for Spinal Research!
Being part of the sport eventing, where spinal injuries are high risk and having family members and friends that have been affected by these injuries, I have seen first hand the life-altering situation you can be put in.
Having always taken part in school cross country running when I was little and then running to be fit for eventing, I agreed at aged about 10 with my dad who has ran in many marathons since he was 39, that once I was old enough I'd run the london marathon with him. I turn 18 in January so will be running the 26.2 miles in April.
There are an estimated 105,000 people in the UK with a Spinal Cord Injury. Living with an SCI often means a lifetime of health and care costs, as well as the threat of secondary healthcare complications.
Spinal Research is the UK's leading medical charity focused on the repair and restoration of the spinal cord, and we exist to beat paralysis.
Spinal Research do not receive governmental funding; all projects are funded by donations.
With your help, we can #CureParalysis.
