Story
In 2024, I laced up my running shoes - again — but this time, something was different. I wasn’t just running for fitness, for times, or for medals. I was running for something far deeper. I was running for my mental health.
A few moments in 2024 shook me — enough to make me pause, reflect, and realize I had been putting my mental well-being on the back burner. Running became my therapy, my escape, my reset button. It wasn’t just exercise anymore… it became "The Purpose".
As the miles built up, so did my confidence. From 5Ks to 10Ks, 15Ks, 20Ks, half marathons, and even a 30K — each finish line felt like proof that I could push further. And now, I’m aiming for my biggest challenge yet: My First Marathon. And not just anywhere… but in my home city, at the iconic 2026 London Marathon.
But this time, "The Purpose" isn’t just mine. It’s for #TeamSunshine.
Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity grants wishes for seriously ill children across the UK, bringing moments of joy and hope into lives that need them most. They help children aged 3–18, of any background, providing equipment, supporting hospitals, and creating magical memories that let kids forget their illness — even if it’s just for one day. They give smiles, confidence, and hope when it matters most.
Running 26.2 miles will be tough, but nothing compared to the battles these children face every single day. If my steps can help bring even one more smile, every mile will be worth it.
