In memory of Mr Tajinder Singh Marway (Tindy)
Giving Hope and Dignity to extremely poor disabled children through education and vocational training enabling them to join mainstream society.

Story

Tajinder Singh Marway - a beloved Husband, Brother, Father and Grandfather. Our Gentle Giant.

Many of you will know that Dad supported many charities for the better part of his 64 years, but this one in particular was very close to his heart. We as a family would like to request that in lieu of flowers that a donation is made to Polio Children UK.

Polio Children was first introduced to Dad by his friend and mentor Arun Patel. The charity exemplified everything that he stood for - helping those in need with dignity and kindness. “Tajinder’s desire and enthusiasm to help those polio affected children was spontaneous and simply awesome. We invited him to join us on the board of trustees and thankfully he accepted it” Arun Patel. After successfully assisting more than two thousand children with polio worldwide, we decided to help orphans and other children with major disabilities like blindness, deafness etc. Tajinder continued to play a crucial role here too. Polio and Children in Need is now an international charity operating in over 30 countries assisting in the provision of facilities for healthcare, sanitation, education and work.

Dad had the chance to travel to Jodhpur, India and was amazed to see their incredible work being done including helping girls receive education, accommodation and even setting up them up with the tools for an independent life. This charity provides dignity to those with disabilities and gives hope. Our dad was never short on compassion and a positive attitude. His life motto was always to ensure he helped other people. We would like to insert below a beautiful message from our uncle Manpreet (Romy) Sachdev about Dad.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of my best friend, Teji. Words cannot fully express the pain and emptiness that comes with this loss. Teji was not just a friend; he was like family to me. His kindness, wisdom, and ever-smiling nature touched everyone around him. He was a truly nice person, always willing to help, always there with encouragement, and always spreading positivity wherever he went. We all learned so much from him, about life, humility, and the importance of staying strong even in difficult times. His values, warmth, and genuine soul have left a lasting mark on all of us. He was more than a companion; he was a guide, a motivator, and someone who made life better simply by being in it.

Though he is no longer with us in person, his memories, his laughter, and the lessons he shared will live on in our hearts forever. We will miss him deeply, but we take comfort in knowing that his beautiful soul has found peace. Rest in peace, dear Teji. You will always be remembered with love and respect.”

Thank you for reading.
