Story
When my wonderful brother died of a brain tumour 3 years ago today, Winston’s Wish were such a support to my kiddos.
Hux had zoom group counselling sessions which allowed him to chat to other kids going through the same stuff and Fifi received lots of books, toys and activities that all helped her in the early stages of grief. When you are dealing with your loss and grief, trying to also hold up two little people is pretty overwhelming so knowing they had extra support took some weight off my shoulders. So, this October I am running for Winston’s Wish to thank them for being there when we needed them. I am also for my big bro just to make sure we always keep talking about him and saying his name.
About Winston’s Wish:
Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.
Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.
