24 Hours we are never going to forget
For those of you who know Sophie well, you know she has always loved a 24hour challenge. She is swapping the sleeping in cupboards for the outdoors and roped me in to help. On 20th-21st June Sophie and myself are swimming at Shepperton Lake in a 24hr relay to raise money for Level Water – a charity that gives children with disabilities the chance to learn to swim.
Every £15 donated funds one life-changing lesson and that is why we are doing this. Sophie has always been a water baby and she wanted to set herself (and me!) a challenge that meant something to her. She loves the water, and likes open water swimming especially (although admittedly more warm seas on holiday than UK cold lakes in winter!) and she wanted to to support a cause that gives everyone the chance to learn to swim and enjoy the water as much as she does. That’s why your support means so much.
It’s one of those events you hear about and think: I want to do that. So we are!
It’s cold-water swims at 3AM. Firepits and friendships. Sunrise over the lake. The buzz of doing something brilliantly hard – for a brilliant cause.
Anything you can donate will be gratefully welcomed and if you are near Shepperton on the 20th/21st June, please come and give us some support (soggy hugs optional!).
Thank you,
Sophie and Tamsin xx
