Some people reconnect over coffee - Abigail and Tania have chosen 15.5 miles of uphill suffering.

In what can only be described as a complete lack of self-preservation, we are taking on the Brecon Beacons Challenge.

This means:

🏔️ 15.5 miles

🥵 1,200m of ascent (including Pen y Fan)

⏰ Around 8 hours of hiking

🦵 Approximately 4 million uphill steps (probably)

We’ll be battling rugged mountain terrain, questionable snack choices, and rapidly declining morale — all for an amazing cause. The money raised will support 3Pillars’ sports-based mentoring programmes, helping young people at risk of incarceration build confidence, discover their potential, and create positive change in their lives.

If you can spare a few pounds, we’d massively appreciate it ❤️

The group will be a mix of 3 Pillars supporters, graduates of 3Pillars programmes and members of the 3Pillars team. Together we will share a meaningful challenge and the achievement of tackling the Brecon Beacons as one group.

For many participants, the Brecon Beacons will be their first time in open mountains, sharing the challenge, supporting one another and discovering something new about themselves along the way. The journey builds resilience, teamwork and personal growth with every step. This from a graduate on last year's hike:

“My friends on snapchat who are doing bad stuff - they were all messaging me saying they wish they could do that [the hike]. When they saw me do that hike, they were shocked, I’ve never done anything like that before but they were mad proud. That made them have a realisation of what they are doing in their
