Story

Three days after watching the London Marathon 2025, inspired by every runner who crossed that finish line, my entire world changed. At just 36 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer.

Within four weeks, I was in surgery having part of my colon — and the tumour that had blindsided my family and me — removed. What followed was eight gruelling cycles of chemotherapy that stretched across the rest of 2025. It tested every part of me: my body, my mind, and the resilience of my wife and our two beautiful children, who had to watch their husband and dad fight a battle no family should face.

The past year has been the hardest of our lives. But throughout the darkest moments, through the nausea, the exhaustion, the fear, I held onto one image: me, crossing the finish line of the London Marathon — not as a spectator, but as someone who had looked cancer in the eye and refused to be beaten.

That vision gave me strength when I had none left. And now, as I work towards making it a reality, I’m asking for your support.

This vision has now become a reality as I will take part in the 2026 London Marathon just 4 months after finishing chemo and will be raising funds for Bowel Cancer UK. This amazing charity fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. They have some great resources which have very much been there for me in my time of need.

Thank you for your support.
