Story
In honor of what would have been Steve’s 54th birthday this month, I have decided to run 100 miles in September to support Blood Cancer UK.
As some of you know Steve lost his fight with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukamia) in March 23.
AML is an aggressive cancer and it is unclear what actually causes it, hence more research is needed. He was an amazing husband and father to our girls and I truly wouldn’t want any other families to go through this loss, especially if more research can help find a cure or improve an individual's prognosis.
This blood cancer is a genetic lottery, Steve didn’t smoke, rarely drank and was relatively fit, it blew our lives apart to lose him too early.
Completing this challenge is going to be tough but I am determined to raise at least £3500. If you could support me I'd be so very grateful and I promise you I'll be working this menopausal body of mine very hard as I haven't run for three years and plan to try and complete 5 miles 5 days a week.
Thank you for all your support.
Week 1 running completed 24.5 miles .
