On Sunday 10th November my colleague Kelly Reynolds, 3 Freedom Leisure Gym Members and 4 Friends from Scotland and I are taking part in the Athens Marathon

‘The Authentic’. Held every November since 1972, the Athens Marathon is a 26.2 mile road race, inspired by and based on the legend of the Ancient Greek messenger, Pheidippides, who ran from the Battle of Marathon to Athens to announce the Greeks' victory over the Persians. It is considered one of the most iconic and difficult major marathon races in the world.

We are raising funds for Parkinson's UK. This iconic race is a personal challenge for us, inspired by the residents at Inspired Villages, Family and close friends who have been deeply affected by Parkinson's disease.

All funds raised through our JustGiving page will go directly to Parkinson's UK. Your generous contribution will make a significant difference in the lives of those living with Parkinson's disease.
