Guinness World Records™ attempt – Longest Zumba® Class, 24 hours 10 minutes · 24 October 2026

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

On 31 May 2016, I took a phone call that changed my life forever.

My mum had collapsed at work.

She was taken to Addenbrooke’s and cared for in NICU, but despite the incredible efforts of the team there, she never regained consciousness.

She had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm — something none of us knew she had.

We lost her on 3 June 2016.

My mum was an incredible person, and even in the middle of our family’s devastation, she went on to help others. She was on the organ donor register and, through her own tragedy, saved the lives of four people.

That is something I will always be unbelievably proud of.

This year marks 10 years since we lost her, and I wanted to do something to mark that anniversary that felt truly meaningful — something difficult, something memorable and something completely outside my comfort zone.

So on Saturday 24 October 2026, starting at 10:00am, I will be leading a Guinness World Records™ attempt for the Longest Zumba® Class.

The target is 24 hours and 10 minutes.

I’ll be attempting it alongside an amazing team of participants, with the same core group taking part throughout the challenge as we try to keep moving through the day, the night and into the following morning.

And I am nervous.

Very nervous.

This is without doubt the hardest challenge I have ever set myself up for.

I know there will be moments where I am exhausted, emotional, sore and questioning why on earth I thought this was a good idea.

But that is exactly why I wanted to do it.

I wanted to choose something that genuinely challenged me and gave this anniversary a sense of purpose.

For me, this isn’t really about a record.

It’s about my mum.

It’s about remembering the person she was, the lives she changed and the four people who were given another chance because of her.

I am personally raising money for Headway – the brain injury association, helping to support people affected by brain injury and their families.

The overall event is a Guinness World Records attempt, and everyone taking part may have their own reason for being there, but this is mine.

I don’t know whether we will achieve the record.

That is why it is an attempt.

But I do know that I will give it everything I have.

If you are able to donate, share the page or simply send us a little encouragement, it would mean more to me than I can say.
