Story

As an Advisory Board Member of the Greater Louisville YMCA, I believe in the Y’s mission of supporting youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The YMCA campaign is currently underway for 2026. It is through the generosity of donations, that YMCA program accessibility and availability for individuals and families can continue across the Louisville community.

As I support all of the offerings at the YMCA, my passion is in supporting the following programs: 1) LiveStrong, helps cancer survivors rebuild their strength and confidence; 2) Total Movement with Parkinsons, certified instructors work with Parkinsons patients to manage their symptoms, and 3) the YMCA Safe Place Services Shelter House, provides help, hope and healing to teens and families in crisis , including homeless youth and those in need of a youth crisis shelter. Now the “why” as to my passion for these three programs:

LiveStrong: I have several friends, myself and family members who have combatted cancer. Any program that I can help cancer patients rebuild their confidence and strength in life’s journey, I most certainly encourage.

Total Movement with Parkinsons: my father struggled with the daily and progressive challenges of Parkinsons. The YMCA program permits Parkinson individuals to coordinate movements through exercise to help manage their symptoms.

Safe Place Services Shelter House: Upon touring the facility, I was able to I observe two youths who were scared and knocking on the outside doors to seek shelter and assistance. These are youths and young adults who have lived in substance abuse and/or families of incarceration. These youths need a safe place with counseling and mentorship to help to encourage a life path of opportunities.

This year I plan to raise $1,750 to support the YMCA offerings. In addition, I will be donating $2,500 individually.

I would greatly appreciate your consideration in making a tax deductible contribution. The campaign ends after May 31st, 2026. Please find attached a “Just Giving link” where donations can be given.

With much gratitude!
