Sadly, there are just far too many people who have been affected or suffered with Cancer to mention why I'm doing this, so I'm doing it for everyone but with a special mention for 15 amazingly strong people (in memory for 14 of them) who have profoundly impacted on mine/Craig's life, whether they were family, a friend or a friends family member - remembering my mum Pamela🩷 my mum's sisters Sandra & Jessie💜💜 Auntie Dorothy💚 Craig's Granny🧡 Alice's (The Rochford Family) mum Anne💜 Sam's Mum Jan🩷 Barry's sister Tracey💛 Great Grandma Heather from Oz💚 Jen’s sister Joanne taken far too young and from her young daughter💜 Deb’s Mum Moira🧡 Naomi’s Mum Sandra🩷 friend Sam Jayne Young taken far too young from her young son & baby daughter💛 and Jo’s hubby Andy too young leaving his young daughter & son💙

SHOCKING STATISTICS 💔

My mum's story:

CANCER - it's word we all hate, but sadly a word that is most commonly known to everyone these days. A word that I never remember hearing as a child or maybe even a teen. First time hearing it, it was rare to get cancer. It was years before I really remember a statistic of 1 in 100 but didn't give it a thought, maybe 1 in 10 alerted me a good bit more but now it's 1 in 2 and become 'normal' (if you can say that) to hear someone you know or know of has been diagnosed or hear of a cancer loss daily!

I certainly wasn't aware of my Mum's first battle with cancer (cervical) starting in her late 20's. I'm not even sure I really registered cancer when another form of cancer (ovarian) hit her in her 30's. I do remember my mum being sicker and more aware of the word & meaning when her first breast cancer hit in her 40's (now her 3rd type of cancer) the word cancer was very prominent throughout her 40's, 50's and 60's and she bravely fought Breast Cancer coming back a 2nd and 3rd time which then went into secondary bone cancer and stage 4, quickly to terminal. For those that knew my mum they will agree, she was a force to be reckoned with. She refused to accept she had cancer or that it would take her down. I don't think i ever saw my mum cry because she had cancer, i never heard her say 'why me' She once said she was happy to take the multiple hit's because then maybe I wouldn't get it.

For 5 decades she fought it. Never did cancer define her, she defined it. She wanted much longer in life and really wasn't ready to go, but she'd be happy if she made 70 and had a huge birthday party. She did make it, we had the biggest celebration with people travelling from all over the world and sadly 6 months later we celebrated her for the last and final time.

My family & friends has been hit really hard with cancer, my mum, both of her sisters, my cousin's mum to name a few so yeah I may joke OMG my hair, my nails, I don't do mud, you want me to what? crawl on the ground while it's wet & muddy!!! But the truth is "Banchory Beast, let's be having you!"

I CAN'T WAIT! IT'S GOING TO BE THE BEST FUN WITH CRAIG AS ALWAYS BY MY SIDE DOING IT WITH ME, LAUGHING WITH ME (yeah, MOSTLY at me).
