Story
On the 13th of June 2026 I will be completing a 76km run through the Cotswolds (including a 1650m climb!) to continue my fundraising efforts for Children with Cancer UK, a charity very close to me and my families hearts. Not only this but on the 12th of April I will be starting my training off with a bang as part of CWCUKs Brighton marathon team!
As many of you may know in 2024 I completed a lifelong dream of running my first marathon in London and then this year in April completed Manchester marathon and have now raised over £8000 for Children with Cancer UK. When I was thinking about how I could continue to raise more money for this amazing charity it was clear to me that the only way to keep raising even more money was to run even further! This is by far the craziest thing I have ever done (especially along side my final year of medical school!) and I cant wait to see how much we can continue to raise!
For those of you who don't know why Children with cancer is such an important charity to me and my family here's a little bit more on why I want to continue running and raising money however I can!
When I was 4, my little sister Rose was diagnosed with infant acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. She was only 5 months old. Over the next two years she fought through endless hospital stays, and rounds of treatment, including times on life support. Although, very young, I saw the impact of this on everyone involved; my parents having to stay at Great Ormond Street Hospital with Rose whilst trying to balance looking after me at the same time. We were lucky - we had wonderful family and friends who willingly stepped in to help in every way they could.
Thankfully, Rose is now a happy and healthy 19 year old in her second year of University! However, as a family, we have never forgotten the fear of those years; we remain hugely indebted to research funded by CWCUK and we have never stopped trying to give back to Children with Cancer UK and GOSHCC. So far we have raised over £250,000.
Not every family who has been affected by childhood cancer is as lucky as mine and I want to be able to give back to Children with Cancer UK to help fund more lifesaving research and support more families like my own.
I am honoured to be able to continue to fundraise for a charity so close to my own and all my families hearts and would apprecaite any donations and support to be able to raise as much money as possible for such an amazing charity. No donation is too small so please support me in any way you can! Thank you!!
