Story
Thank you so much for stopping by my page. As most of you know, I’m Tara, Amber’s Mum. Since we lost our beautiful Amber 2 years ago, I’ve poured my heart into The Amber Townson Foundation to make sure her light keeps shining. Wanting to get stuck into something physical; this April I’ve decided to push myself by taking on the Newport Marathon.
This is massive for me. For those of you who don't know, I had a hip replacement around 18 months ago. Back then I could hardly manage a dog walk and I wasn't sure what my fitness would look like again, so tackling a marathon feels like a huge, scary, and deeply emotional challenge, filled with total self-doubt, if I am being honest!
To even get to the start line, I have to cover a huge 780km in training. That is the equivalent of running from Bristol to Frankfurt! Every single one of those kilometres is for Amber. When my legs feel heavy or my hip aches, I’ll be thinking of her and all the children and families we are able to help in her name.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps The Amber Townson Foundation continue the vital work we do for our community, keeping Amber’s memory alive by helping those who need it most.
Thank you for being in my corner and for helping me do this for her. I miss her dearly, more each day.
