Story
Dear All,
On 27th March this year, I lost my beloved father. He was 85 years old. Although he had been living with dementia for some time, it was a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer that sadly hastened his passing.

I continue to feel his absence every single day.
This year, on the 29th of June, I’ll be running the Derby Half Marathon (Ramathon) in his memory. It’s a way for me to honour him, to help process my grief, and to support the incredible work being done by Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the toughest cancers to face. It has the lowest survival rate of all common cancers, with more than half of people diagnosed dying within just three months. Late diagnosis is a huge challenge—nine out of ten cases are diagnosed too late for curative treatment. Despite its severity, pancreatic cancer still receives a fraction of the research funding and attention it urgently needs.
Pancreatic Cancer UK is working to change that. They fund vital research, push for earlier diagnosis, and provide expert support to patients and their families when they need it most.
I would be truly grateful for any donation you feel able to make. Every penny helps make a difference and brings us closer to a future where families don’t have to go through what so many of us already have.
Thank you all so much for your support.
Best wishes,
Taranjit
