When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

When my fit and healthy marthon-runner, uncle Clive had a stroke in 2015, aged just 50, it turned his world upside down. But despite being left partially paralysed and in a wheel chair and unable to properly move his left hand and arm again, seven years on he's made huge progress.

He's got a long way to go but every with daily physio and incredible persistance, he is seeing signs of real improvement. Throughout it all he never grumbles and always has a smile on his face. I'm lucky enough to live near for regular political gossiping, to hear the latest news on his beloved Manchester United and of course, enjoy great food and drink. 🍺

Somehow despite breaking my foot last time, I'm attempting another half marathon to raise some lovely cash. And Clive of course is on hand for all and any running tips! 🏃‍♀️

He and my aunt are a real Inspriration to me, so here's to raising some much needed dollar for a worthy cause. 🙌 hope you can spare a few pennies!
