Story
As many of you know, fitness is a huge part of my life and my career. As a personal trainer, people often assume that exercise comes naturally to me — but the truth is, we all have challenges that push us outside of our comfort zones.
For me, this is it.
This year, I’m taking on something I never thought I’d do… running a half marathon. This is on Sunday the 9th of August in Lytham St Annes. The challenge was set by one of my clients Simon, and although I'm super nervous, I'm grateful for the push!
I’ve never run further than a 10k before, so this is going to test me mentally, physically, and emotionally in ways I haven’t experienced before. But I wanted to prove to myself — and hopefully inspire others — that growth happens when we challenge ourselves, even in the areas we find difficult.
And if I’m going to put myself through all those miles, I wanted it to be for something truly meaningful.
I’m raising money for an incredible animal charity called Animal Care who are based in Lancaster and work tirelessly to rescue, care for, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who desperately need help, love, and a second chance. The work they do every single day is nothing short of amazing.
What makes this charity so special is the people behind it.
The staff who dedicate their lives to caring for vulnerable animals.
The volunteers who give up their time to walk dogs, comfort nervous cats, clean, feed, support events, and help wherever they can.
The people in the tea rooms creating a welcoming place that helps raise vital funds.
And every single person behind the scenes who keeps the charity going with compassion, patience, and genuine love for animals.
These animals don’t get help without them.
Charities like this rely heavily on donations and community support just to continue doing the incredible work they do. Every contribution — no matter how big or small — genuinely makes a difference.
So over the next few months, while I’m battling early runs, tired legs, self-doubt, and a lot of miles, I’d be so grateful if you could support me and this amazing cause.
Whether that’s donating, sharing this post, or simply cheering me on — thank you. It honestly means more than you know.
Let’s do something amazing together — for the animals, for the people who care for them, and for proving that we are all capable of more than we think. 🐾🏃♂️
