We know many of you enjoy Secret Santa with your colleagues. We would like to encourage you to donate the £10 that you would have spent on your co-worker Secret Santa present to the Newham Christmas Toy Appeal so that a local disadvantaged, vulnerable and at-risk child in Newham has a present to open on Christmas morning. This will help them experience a real Christmas Day. Your donation will provide each child referred to the Appeal with a new gift for their stocking such as a tea set, Lego, a musical instrument, a jigsaw, a construction sets or story books.

The Newham Christmas Toy Appeal was set up by the late Kevin Jenkins OBE for Community Links 45 years ago, and has been supported by Tate & Lyle Sugars every year since then. It aims to provide for each child with a Christmas stocking of new gifts specific to their age, needs, and abilities to open on Christmas morning. Children are referred to the Appeal from Children’s Services, schools, health visitors, GPs, and probation services which ensures that the Appeal helps those children who are most disadvantaged, vulnerable and at risk and who otherwise would be waking up to a Christmas morning which felt like any other morning. Last year, the Appeal reached 3,300 children in the lead up to Christmas Day, which we hope to exceed this year.
