On August 11th I will be taking part in the Dundee Kiltwalk 2024. Lyndsey, Vicki, Zoe and I will be walking 20 miles to raise money for our own chosen charities.

I have decided to raise money for a charity local to Dundee called 'HaVeN' (The Hearing Voices Network Dundee SCO SC047597).

They provide a 'HaVeN' for those who hear voices, as well as those in the community who suffer from mental health issues.

They have a drop-in centre as well as a community cafe. Based in the Hilltown, they offer a variety of groups run by volunteers. The volunteers are the heart of the charity and they run the groups, reception and cafe.

I chose 'HaVeN' because I hear first hand from many service users the positive impact this charity has on their own and others mental health and how it provides a safe space for people.

The Kiltwalk will be a challenge but it will be nothing compared to the work these amazing volunteers do!
