Story
When we registered The Bimiri Foundation (TBF) with the OSCR in Scotland, we had to name three purposes on our trust deed document. These were the intentions of our organisation and they are as follows:
(i) The advancement of health by administering grants to provide and maintain a permanent clean, fresh water supply to the village of Bimiri, Nepal
(ii) The relief of poverty by making funds raised available to the community and surrounding areas
(iii) The advancement of education.
The target of this Side Quest pot is our third intention, the advancement of Education.
The village of Suara, where we will soon be completing our second pipeline project, is in dire need of a better primary school. Babu Kaji, the local man on the ground who I am working with on the Suara project, has asked me if we can try to fund a local English teacher, as well as one or two foreign volunteer teachers to come to the primary school to improve the standard of education there.
Our intention is to fund the first year, and then to approach local government for funding for future years.
The target of this pot is set to what it will cost to cover the teacher and the volunteers food and accommodation for one year. Any additional funds raised will pay for supplies for the school as required.
