Michael's fundraiser for the Bible Society

Michael Smith is raising money for Bible Society

Tour de Tyndale III · 12 July 2026

This summer Bible Society supporters will be riding hundreds of miles to share their love for the Bible with people around the world.

Story

For the third year, I’m taking on the Tour de Tyndale to raise funds for the Bible Society and encourage people to read, know, and love the Bible.

In 1526, William Tyndale printed the first English New Testament translated directly from the original Greek — a courageous act that helped bring Scripture into ordinary homes across the English-speaking world and changed history forever.

This year, I’ll be cycling 732 km from Vilvoorde, near Brussels — where Tyndale was executed — to Constance in southern Germany, where Jan Hus was martyred. Their stories represent countless men and women who gave their lives so that others could have access to God’s Word.

Along the route, I’ll also visit Cologne, where the Bible was first partially printed, and Worms, where Tyndale met Martin Luther and where the New Testament was first printed in its entirety in English.

Sadly, the mission is far from over. In many parts of the world today, owning or distributing a Bible is still restricted, dangerous, or even illegal.

All donations will go to the Bible Society to help print, transport, and distribute Bibles to the persecuted Church and to those still longing to read Scripture in freedom.

If you’re able, I’d be hugely grateful for your support. And whether you donate or not, I encourage you to take time to read the Bible for yourself.
