Walk The UK for EB

Walk the UK · 14 June 2025
Welcome to the great walk for Abe!
Last year, we walked 100km in 24 hours for Abe and CureEB. This year, we’re going bigger.
On June 14th, we’re taking on 1,000km—walking the length of the UK within ONE day.
We’re splitting into teams, each covering 30-60km, all at the same time, from Land’s End to John O’Groats. It’s ambitious. It’s insane. And it may well be the first time its ever been done...
We’re doing it all to raise money and awareness for EB— our dear friends Alex and Natasha Hersham gave birth to a beautiful baby boy April 2023 who was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (the ‘Butterfly Disease.’) EB is a very rare, devastating and debilitating genetic disease with a lifelong burden: people living with EB have skin that cannot bind together, so any trauma or friction can cause painful blisters, open wounds, and scarring.
EB leads to excruciating pain with much wider health implications; most people risk blindness and many die of an aggressive form of cancer in their early adulthood. EB has an absolutely devastating impact on the patient’s physical and mental wellbeing, as well as causing endless stress and uncertainty for both parents and child. The number of people living with EB is estimated to be around 500,000 living with EB worldwide.
As Alex and Natasha’s closest friends and family members, we want to do everything we can to support Abe and those living with EB. Alex has been working tirelessly on finding a cure since Abe’s birth, and is partnering with Cure EB to find effective treatments and a cure for all forms of EB. All money raised goes to the ABE fund, which is a segregated fund inside Cure EB.
Please support us in any way you can. And let’s make history together. 1,000km. One day. The entire country. Let’s go..
