Story
Welcome once again to Miles for Matheny - an event that holds deep personal meaning for our family.
This year feels especially meaningful as Matheny Medical and Educational Center celebrates its 80th Anniversary. Matheny is a special medical and educational center providing the utmost personalized care to individuals with significant and complex medical needs.
Matheny saves lives. Every day, their medical team cares for individuals with complex, high-risk conditions, responding to respiratory crises, managing seizures, and providing constant, specialized support. For many residents and their families, Matheny is not just a place of care, but a lifeline.
Miles for Matheny to be held at their campus in Peapack NJ is a day of joy, resilience, and connection, when we come together to honor what’s possible and ensure this work continues for years to come.
Now 34, our son Bryan has Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes global developmental delays. For over two decades, Matheny has provided Bryan with exceptional medical attention, therapy, education, and life-changing support from a team of dedicated professionals.
We have watched Bryan grow in ways we once could not have imagined, and that is because of the care provided by Matheny.
So many of you have already been part of this journey, and your support has made a real difference for Bryan and for families like ours. And if you are new to Matheny, we are truly grateful you’re here.
As Matheny marks 80 years, we’re also looking ahead to what comes next. There is so much potential and together we can expand this level of personalized care, reach more families, and help shape an even stronger future for Matheny.
Your generosity makes this possible. By supporting Team Bryan Desatnick, you help ensure Matheny can continue its life-changing work, providing compassionate, expert care to individuals with the most complex disabilities. Let’s make 2026 our strongest year yet!
We hope you will join us in celebrating the abilities of the people Matheny serves. We are so grateful for anything you can do to support this wonderful event. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
With gratitude,
Lloyd and Family
