24hr Rollerblading Relay

Haven House Children's Hospice provides the best possible life for every baby, child and young person with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families, who live in our local communities.

Story

On July 12th-13th, I will be taking part in a 24hr Rollerblading Relay in Le Mans, France.

The 24 Heures Roller Du Mans takes place every year on the Le Mans Bugatti circuit, the same circuit where the iconic 24hr cycling and motorsport endurance races take place! It is among the biggest endurance skating events in the world, bringing together professionals and amateurs (*cough* like me *cough*) alike. I will be competing over the 4,185 metres circuit in a team of eight to cover the greatest distance possible in a day.

An although I've been skating in various disciplines for a while this will be my first endurance event of any sort and will surely present a new challenge!

About Haven House

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for seriously ill babies and children (up to the age of 18) by creating a loving and warm environment for them and their families while they go through the toughest of times.

No family should have to face alone the difficulties of looking after a child with a serious illness. Haven House provides round the clock care at our hospice, surrounded in beautiful grounds and woodland, in Woodford Green and through our outreach services in the home and local community.
