Team Cillian Cycle from London to Paris for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Matthew Bain is raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

London to Paris Cycle · 11 June 2025

We raise money to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

In summer 2024 Matthew Bain's family received some pretty terrible news when he his eldest son, Cillian, was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Since his diagnosis back in July he’s had to spend over ten weeks in hospital, two months hooked up to a continuous IV that he had to carry around with him and has spent countless more days receiving treatment in hospital, school and home and throughout it all he’s been a rock star. He missed a scout trip to America and the various holidays and trips we had planned and his summer turned into a pretty depressing time.

During that time, Cillian has been treated at a number of hospitals, led by the amazing team at The Royal Marsden, which is why Matt along with his brother-in-law Paul decided to try and raise some money for them by pretending we're not middle aged men past our primes and cycle from London to Paris.

When Matt told some of his friends and colleagues at work about it, a number decided they wanted to get involved and help to raise money as well, and so we now have Team Cillian busy preparing to cycle 350 miles over 4 days from London to Paris in the hope that you lovely folks will help us raise some money to help The Royal Marsden to continue their incredible work.
