Story
Thank you for visiting our page. We're raising funds for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer. Our goal is for The Gaz Emmerson Fund to surpass £300,000, in memory of our best friend Gaz.
Gaz was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of bone and soft tissue cancer in 2014 when he was 21. Over the next 8 years, Gaz underwent 48 rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and more rounds of radiotherapy than he could count. You wouldn't know it though - we spent those 8 years enjoying countless good times, festivals, BBQs and holidays. Sometimes he'd come straight to the pub from chemo.
In August 2022, we very sadly lost Gaz and we continue to do everything we can to continue his incredible legacy.
Team Gaz Emmerson 2026:
Adam - London Marathon was the next big challenge that Gaz wanted to tackle so it’s only right that I take it on in his memory and do my best mate proud. His achievements and legacy are inspirational and will be keeping me going. In true Gaz style I’ll be raising a pint or three at the finish line.
Zoe & James - We’re getting married this year, and we know Gaz — the life and soul of any party — would have thrown himself into the celebrations. Taking on this challenge means he will be there in spirit and a part of our special year.
Matt - It's usually my wife, Madeline, taking on fundraising challenges for Sarcoma UK. Whilst she's out of action as we await the arrival of a new addition to our family, I'm stepping in to continue raising money for a cause very close to her heart.
Sarcoma UK is the only national charity that funds vital research, offers support for those affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. At present they receive no government funding despite the incredible and crucially important work they undertake. Any contribution you are able to make is hugely appreciated.
