On the 8th of November, Nat, Beccy, Julie and I are taking part in the Moonlit Memory walk, fundraising for Children’s Hospice South West.

As you all know we have such a personal connection with CHSW, in particular Little Harbour down in St Austell.

I have fundraised lots in the past for this incredible place, and this time it’s in memory of my beautiful boy Oscar.

Oscar passed away in November of 2023 with myself and his dad by his side. His closest family were all able to say goodbye to him beforehand thanks to Little Harbour. Without them, Oscar would have passed in Bristol children’s hospital miles away from the people he loved the most.

Little Harbour were able to arrange for Oscar’s transport to them, and welcomed us with open arms into a safe space where Oscar spent many happy times. We were able to stay there in the days afterwards, when our world had fallen apart. They gave us precious time with our boy to say goodbye and looked after us as a family. We still receive support from them to this day.

We spent 10 years having respite and family stays at Little Harbour before Oscar’s death, and this place will always have the most special place in my heart.

We are fundraising to ensure these services carry on for all the families that use them… now and in the future.

Children's Hospice South West provides hospice stays, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care at 3 children's hospices; Little Bridge House in Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.
