Down Syndrome UK (DSUK) is a national charity passionate about empowering parents and professionals to improve the lives of those with Down syndrome and their families in the UK.

Story

At 15 weeks pregnant, we found out our future baby would be born with Down Syndrome. For the first week, I didn't know what to think and felt a bit lost. Looking for some insight, I joined a Facebook group called 'Positive About Down Syndrome' and within an hour received a private message welcoming me to the group and asking if I would like a 'positivity pack'. Within 3 days we received our pack which contained useful resources, some leaflets and a book called "Nobody told me" which was filled with stories written by people with Down syndrome, their parents and their siblings about all the positives in their life and how much love their children brought into their lives. From that day on, I didn't feel lost anymore, I felt excited again. Each Positivity Pack costs £20 so our goal is to raise enough money to supply 50 people with this beautiful gift. I will be walking with Mae and my friends from work, another great charity, Aspens Charities. Team 'Positively aMAEzing', Meraud, Kim, Nikki, Ollie, Megan and Lauren will be walking from Eastbourne Pier to Hastings Pier which will take between 6-7 hours. If you can, please donate and/or share this page with your friends. Thank you
