Mark and I are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April to raise money for the Addison's Disease Self-Help Group.

The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) is a wonderful UK and Ireland charity working to improve the lives of people with Addison’s disease, adrenal insufficiency and all who support them.

The ADSHG have been such a valuable help since I was diagnosed with Addison's in 2021. From support during the early days of my diagnosis to their advice for travel, sickness and exercise. They also have a shop with useful items such as handy kits for storing our our emergency steroid injections. Their work is so important to all those living with adrenal disease.

Most of you who know us have also met our wee Jack Russell, Monkey, who coincidentally also has Addison's. She has never let it slow her down.

In addition to getting fitter, I will need to ensure my steroid levels, hydration and salt levels are looked after during the event and I will use the great advice provided by the ADSHG and the endocrine team at Aberdeen RI to help with this.
