Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers!

We are Matthew and Peter—husbands, dog dads, and soon-to-be marathon finishers (hopefully with all toenails intact). This April, we’ll be running our first-ever marathon to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer—a cause that is deeply personal to us.

Why this charity? Well, my mom (Matthew’s) works for Young Lives vs Cancer, and we’ve seen firsthand how dedicated she and her team are to helping kids and families navigate the toughest battle of their lives. Every day, 12 more children and young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. It’s a terrifying journey, not just because of the disease but because of the overwhelming emotional, financial, and logistical burdens that come with it. Young Lives vs Cancer steps in to provide support, guidance, and hope—ensuring that no family has to face it alone.

So, we’re lacing up our running shoes and hitting the pavement—not just for the challenge (and the carb-loading), but to make a real impact.

We’ve never run a marathon before. And let’s be honest, running 26.2 miles is a lot. Every pound donated is extra motivation to keep us going (especially when our legs start questioning our life choices around mile 20).

Peter once said he "doesn’t love running." And yet, here we are. If that isn’t worth a donation, we don’t know what is.

We’re doing this together. As a couple, we’ve tackled a lot, but this will be our biggest challenge yet.
